Environmental Ideologies Map

Environmental Ideologies Map is an online platform that explores competing ideological projects over human-nature relationships and the more-than-human world(s). As a digital environmental communication practice, the map provides an overview of the many environmental ideologies that intervene in our thinking about (and our acting in relation to) nature, the world, and ourselves, and allows visitors to navigate diverse clusters of meanings over nature, sustainability, and climate change, as well as the discursive struggles between those ideologies, with textual and audio-visual content produced by scholars from the fields of environmental humanities and communication, media studies, philosophy and anthropology. The platform is fully bi-lingual, in English-Swedish. You can download the flyer for academic promotion of the website here. The flyer for broader distribution can also be downloaded here.

Silencing/Unsilencing Nature Educational Package

Silencing / Unsilencing Nature is an educational package that unpacks the relationship between humans and nature, and how nature often has been silenced. The package offers strategies to unsilence nature, and give nature more of a voice, through an assignment that generates a photography exhibition and catalogue. The package consists of an introductory video, four mini-lectures on video (each with one or two exercises), two assignment videos, an epilogue video and a workshop script. The package is available upon motivated request, free of charge, by emailing Nico Carpentier, after which a password will be provided. Please use the contact form in the menu above.
